we stopped for a pre-dinner drink our last night in Cannes. it just so happens that they give you a free appetizer platter right when you sit down! and they also served the best mojito (even without gummies!)

back in Cannes, we still couldn’t seem to get enough Italian food; enter: eggplant pizza.

it was raining all along the Cote d’Azur, so we couldn’t go to the beach. we decided to head over to Nice on the train for a little artisinal shopping and some organic food. voila - salmon quiche (served with a side of mesclun greens).

you should know well enough by now that i can’t go anywhere without getting gelato, especially if that place happens to be in italy. come on, guys! lemon sorbet = best.

as you may or may not know, Cannes is awfully close to the Italian border. realizing this, Sam and I decided that if we were going to keep eating so much Italian food, we  might as well do it in Italy! so we hopped on the train to Sanremo. After getting lost (no map, little Italian language skill), we finally found some signs for “centro” and there we discovered Tony’s.
i got taglioni ai funghi, which definitely did not disappoint. thanks Tony!

i love mojitos. they’re just delicious, there’s really no other way to say it. i am also currently battling an addiction to HARIBO gummy candies. i know. there are so many better things in life, but i need them. so when this waitress brought out a little dish of them instead of standard salty fare, i was pretty excited, but also slightly embarrassed about my relapse.

chicken breast and roasted vegetables. my meal was pretty good, but Sam’s ravioli definitely paled in comparison to our ongoing love affair with Il Viaggio.
